Danae’s Prenatal Yoga Classes
Traditional, breath-centered pregancy / prenatal yoga. ‘Breath-centered’ means the breath leads, guides and dictates all movement. It is the focus of the practice and is pivotal to working with the mind.
Yoga is not just about Asana postures, the true nature of yoga is to bring clarity to the function of your mind and that can only be done with your breath.
My prenatal yoga classes include:
- 10 minute Birth Education Discussion
- physical, traditional breath centered and creative yoga practice
- specialised meditation
- pregnancy ands birth affirmations (hypnobirthing)
- self regulation and nervous system imprinting
- breathing techniques for pregnancy and any birth
- movements that relieve common aches and pains
- instinctive active birth positions
Props used in the classes – yoga mat, cushion, sheet or towel, 75 cm ball (optional, very helpful for labouring).

Danae’s Signature Practice for women planning a laboured, active birth.
This unique practice simulates a birth experience. It mimics the cycles of labour, weaving traditional yoga with instinctive birthing movement, breath techniques for labour, affirmations for labour, practice breath under load, regulating the nervous system, controlling your mind, rehearsing rhythm with reaction, and building confidence for birth. Preparing for labour and birth
Preparing your mind for the experience of labouring and birth is not something that can be done in a weekend course. You need to experience it and practice it in order to train your brain to support you for a calm birth.
Women supported this way tend to fall into their breath and ‘relaxed state’ much more easily, as they have formed a pattern in their brain that is familiar.
The physical nature of the practice has incredible benefits for your body. Yoga supports your muscles, ligaments and skeletal systems to not only benefit you week by week, but also help your baby to settle into an optimal position for comfort and birth.
Yoga right up until the birth
Women can enjoy their yoga practice with Danae right up until they birth. The practices are made to support the transformation women’s bodies experience. There is then a natural progression into post natal practice to support recovery and motherhood.
