A doula and birth coach supports you through pregnancy, labour and postpartum

Doula and birth coaching services in Sydney.

Bringing a baby into the world is one of the most transformative experiences a woman will go through.  Many parents want to feel prepared, supported and empowered from pregnancy right through to postpartum, and this is where a birth coach and doula, like myself, can make a profound difference.

As a highly experienced Birth Doula, OMP (Optimal Maternal Positioning) Birth Educator, Prenatal Yoga Teacher, and Pregnancy Support Specialist, I have supported more than 650 families on their journey to birth. My role is to offer emotional support, physical comfort, education, birth preparation techniques and continuous labour support so you can feel steady, informed and deeply cared for throughout the entire process.

Whether you’re preparing for a spontaneous vaginal birth, VBAC, twins, breech presentation, hospital birth, or homebirth supported by private midwives, my intention is always the same, to help you approach birth with clarity and confidence.

What is a Birth Coach and Doula?

A birth coach and doula is someone who walks beside you throughout pregnancy, labour and the early postpartum period, helping you develop the mindset, tools and confidence you need for a positive, empowered birthing experience. While doulas are not medical providers, they offer emotional, physical and educational support that beautifully complements clinical care.

Birth coaching focuses on your emotional wellbeing, mental preparation, physical comfort and your ability to work with your body during labour.

As your birth coach and doula, I provide:

  • Education on the physiology and stages of birth
  • Mindset and emotional preparation
  • Prenatal yoga, breathwork and meditation
  • Pain relief and comfort techniques
  • Partner preparation and support
  • Guidance on navigating hospital procedures
  • Tools to help labour progress smoothly and efficiently
  • A calm, reassuring presence through every moment of your birth

The core elements of doula support

I also provide the core elements of doula support, including:

  • Unconditional encouragement
  • Evidence-based information for informed decision-making
  • Hands-on comfort measures in both home and hospital settings
  • Support in unexpected or challenging situations
  • Postpartum debriefs and early newborn care guidance

My approach blends Optimal Maternal Positioning (OMP), breath-centred prenatal yoga, peak-state mindset training, evidence-based education and personalised emotional support. Together, these elements ensure you never feel alone, overwhelmed or unsure of your options, and instead move through your pregnancy and birth with clarity, strength and confidence.

Understanding your Birth Team

What is the difference between a Birth Doula, a Birth Coach, a Midwife and an Obstetrician?

Your Doula / Birth Coach

Think of your doula as your Sherpa on an epic mountain journey. She is chosen by you, works for you, and is by your side through every step of pregnancy, labour and postpartum. She knows the terrain of birth intimately and supports you physically, emotionally and mentally.

Your Midwife

Your midwife is your medical checkpoint, ensuring you and your baby are clinically safe. Midwives provide essential medical care and documentation, often caring for multiple families at once.

Your Obstetrician

Your obstetrician is the helicopter rescue—the specialist who steps in if medical intervention or a caesarean section is required. Obstetricians are essential for complex pregnancies and specialised clinical support.

Together, these roles form a powerful birth team. You and your partner remain at the centre of the journey.

Why Birth Doula support makes a difference

Research shows that continuous doula support leads to:

  • 39% decrease in caesarean rates
  • 15% increase in spontaneous vaginal birth
  • 10% decrease in pain-relief medication usage
  • 41-minute reduction in average labour length
  • 31% decrease in dissatisfaction with the birth experience
  • 38% fewer babies with low APGAR scores

These benefits highlight why doula and birth coach services are becoming increasingly valued by families seeking a more empowered and supported birth.
